On 11 May 2026, the Panel of the Grand Chamber accepted the request for an advisory opinion submitted by the Supreme Court of Slovenia concerning whether from the perspective of the protection afforded to the owner by Article 1 of Protocol No. 1, in the construction of state roads, it is always sufficient for the owner to receive monetary compensation for de facto expropriated property, or must he also be guaranteed protection against interference with his property until a final decision on expropriation has been made.
